Letter from school projects officer

As I am sure you are all aware, Heather Gibbs has left Gaia and taken up a position at a Waldorf School in Australia, which left her position open. Allow me now to introduce myself, my name is Brian Klopper and I have been appointed in Heather’s position. I was born in the Eastern Cape and grew up in Jeffreys Bay, I studied at the then University of Port Elizabeth, now the NMMU and then followed that up with a Certificate in Management and Leadership from the University of the Free State. I was employed at First National Bank for 36 years and retired as a Branch Manager last year. Not happy to sit at home and do “nothing” I applied for the position of Project Coordinator and was very happy when I was chosen. I have boundless energy and enthusiasm and have been very happy to be welcomed into the Waldorf community.
I have watched my God son develop at Gaia Waldorf from kindergarten to class 7 and presently grade 12 and have been fascinated by his development and more importantly his attitude towards life and his fellow man. The holistic education he received made me question our education system (having studied teaching many years ago) and was the catalyst for my interest into the Waldorf way of doing things.
Bearing the above in mind it would be an understatement to say that I am happy to be working at Waldorf where I will get to see the development of the children unfold firsthand. Enough said about me, we are extremely happy and privileged to welcome back Vienie McShane who will be teaching Class 1 this year. We also extend a very warm welcome to Sibongile Sam (Preferred name Sam),Who was with Constantia Waldorf last year and is continuing his Waldorf journey with Gaia this year. Sam will be teaching Xhosa and Physical Exercise.
