Calling All Cyclists! Up close & personal with the GreatSoft Cape Epic 2019 Team.

Now that the dust has settled for the 2019 ABSA Cape Epic, we would like to re-iterate how proud we are of the GreatSoft team and their monumental achievement of completing, what is universally agreed to be the ‘Tour de France’ of mountain biking, and one of the toughest MTB stage races in the world.

Colin Morgan and Stephen Eachus, our GreatSoft team riders, achieved what most won’t achieve in a life time, an ABSA Cape Epic finishers medal.

One cannot underestimate how tough this race is; 8 Days, 630 kilometers, 16,650 meters of climbing (this is the equivalent of 16.5 table mountains) and 43 hours 29 minutes in the saddle gave them a Category position of 167 and overall of 343, well within the top half of the field!

The 2019 field contained the crème de la crème of mountain bikers from around the world. Even a Moto GP rider competed this year, which is testament to how prestigious this event is. The gruelling 8  day MTB race put all the competitors through their paces and certainly tested the mind, body and soul.

This year was the first time that GreatSoft entered a team into this prestigious race, and our after months of training, and 630 kilometers of racing, they had showed true GreatSoft character and personified our brand name.

Our GreatSoft team riders, Colin Morgan, a senior account manager at GreatSoft, and Stephen Eachus, a Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator at Haw & Inglis, are both very talented and experienced cyclists who have competed in hundreds of MTB and road cycling events between them. They did not taken this challenge lightly and trained tirelessly for months before the event.

One has to respect any rider who embarks on this challenge and we are extremely proud of our team.

Bruce Morgan, GreatSoft CEO, with the Team GreatSoft riders.
